Silkroad’s Global Musician Workshop (GMW) – Boston, MA

I will be participating in this year’s Silkroad’s Global Musician Workshop at the New England Conservatory from August 4-10. This incredible program brings together musicians from around the world for a week of cross-cultural musical collaboration, culminating in a multi-night performance festival.

La San Luis Tango – Colombia (Latin American Tour “Muchacha Colombiana”)

I was invited by the Argentinean group La San Luis Tango to participate in six of their concerts in Colombia during their 2023 Latin American tour “Muchacha Colombiana”. The concerts took place in the following cities: Sevilla, Palmira, Cali, Yotoco, Cartago and Zarzal.

XII Festival Flamenco Ciudad de Medellín (Saralamar) – Medellín, Colombia

I participated in the XII Festival Flamenco Ciudad de Medellín, performing with Saralamar. Saralamar is a songwriter, guitarist, and singer with a strong flamenco influence. For this online festival, we performed three songs: Arcana, Anagrama, and Gitanita.

2019 Alumni-Led Residence/KIPP DC Charter Schools – Washington D.C.

I was part of the 2019 Alumni-Led Residence in Washington D.C., were I represented The Global Leaders Program. This was a intercultural exchange and artistic residence aimed to support the musical endeavors of the KIPP DC Charter Schools in Washington D.C.

Italia Summer Residency – Riva del Garda, Italy

I had the privilege of joining the DC Youth Orchestra Program for a 10-day summer residency in the picturesque lakeside village of Riva del Garda, Italy. My role included mentoring and teaching young musicians, as well as performing with the orchestra in four concerts during the residency.

V Campamento YOA Honduras 2018 – Honduras

I had the privilege of joining the V Campamento YOA Honduras 2018, a project supported by the US Embassy. My role included mentoring and teaching young members of the Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as performing with the orchestra in their tour in three cities: Siguatepeque, Comayagua, and Tegucigalpa.

Camp Musicaustral – Frutillar, Chile

In 2018, I had the privilege of serving as doublebass faculty at Musicaustral in Frutillar, Chile. This immersive camp is dedicated to connecting young musicians with Latin American folk traditions through intensive workshops, ensemble rehearsals, and cultural activities.

Senderos del Alma

I participated in the recording of one of the pieces for Lonera’s Rios “Montañas de Niebla” project, which featured 10 original compositions by 7 Latin American composers. The pieces featured the saxophone in diverse ensemble formats.

Tahonnas en Clave

From 2017 to 2020, I was a member of the all-female tropical music group Tahonnas en Clave. Together, we performed various tropical rhythms, including salsa, merengue, porros, and cumbias. Here is one of the recordings I participated in while being part of the group.

La Luka y el Arte

During the Covid lockdown, a group of friends from college reconnected online and decided to make music together. The result is this song, written by Ximena Olarte: a social critique on the lack of resources and financial support for artists.
